Marius Quee'work is an expression of meditation too.'
Quee's first idea for the Recycle Art' project was to design a piece that brought new meaning to the word 'to grind'. Kinetic art using recycled obsolete engines to create unusual effects, has immense appeal to him.
He is preoccupied with movement. His kinetic sculptures illustrate this for him. He uses old electric motors from household machinery. He slows down the power of the engine using a gear casing (together with chains or strings) to make it appropriate for his sculptures. In addition he is fascinated by coat-hangers. The curve evokes movement for him. His great role model is the American artist Alexander Calder who created mobiles and sculptures that looked like coat-hangers.
Quee is also a thinker. To him work is also an expression of meditation. He adds: 'You also can use the word recycling to tell something about e.g. linguistics or chemistry.'
He hopes that his art generates surprise.
