Makoto Kumagai'its a challenge to create something out of waste'
Kumagai is a masters student at the Utrecht school of the Arts. This is his first symposium. It is also the first time that he has been confronted with the phenomenon of waste in a creative setting. He liked the challenge of the main theme of this 'Recycle Art' project. To him recycling also has to do with circulation. He has chosen to express recycling by using his own sketches of the buildings and location of World Art Delft in combination with natural materials and pieces of cloth. His artwork can be seen as 2 or 3 dimensional. Through his artistic style and his choice of materials he wants to tell his own story with a personal Japanese touch.
He feels that he is now has an increased awareness of the waste created by our societies and how to recycle it.
