Jan Clemens Lampe'I want to show my artistic skills.'
Lampe works with so-called mixed media. Among other things, he incorporates lead, zinc, paint, steel and sheepskin into his 3D objects, within a box or a deepened frame. For him it is always about material and colour combinations. His works are graphic as well as emotional.
He never uses the word recycling himself, although he is aware of working with recycling through his art. He has always been interested in photography, at first purely expressive photographs. Later he began portrait photography and working with models. Nowadays he works with cortensteel in which letters and poetry have been cut away and which can be placed in the outdoor environment. Working with cortensteel has taught him that there is less waste when one uses it the right way. Along with photography and sculpture, Lampe also writes and publishes poetry.
About himself and his work: 'I want to show my artistry; firstly for myself and secondly to exhibit it elsewhere, hoping my picture or statue enriches people at home.'
